What is Cannaphobia?
According to the Urban Dictionary, the definition of Cannaphobia is Unreasoning or irrational fear of Cannabis or exaggerated prejudice toward recreational and/or medical users of cannabis.
Cannabis/ Hemp is a very active plant lately.
It's hard to keep track. It is definitely a subject that made a lot of conversations flow in the past years.
A lot of people want to share their views and opinion on the subject. In my experience, I heard all kinds of things…
I heard this new term this week and it just stuck with me, Cannaphobia.
It seemed weird at first, but it describes a certain state of mind perfectly.
How many times have I engaged in a conversation full of hope, trying to explain all the benefits of CBD, or just Hemp itself, as a multi-tasking maestro then got shut down by:
B,but… does it get you high? Or don’t get too excited it won’t be legal anytime soon.
I was quick to judge those people who didn’t get information or wouldn’t try new things and whom just gave up on listening to me, because it was getting too much for them to hear.
Those people aren't ignorant. They are Cannaphobe. They are scared and base their beliefs on old propaganda, old myths, old stories their neighbor told them in 1964…
But that is their reality.
First, making Cannabis legal would protect your kids. We all agree that any type of mind-altering substances shouldn’t be used before the age of majority. Legal Cannabis would forge a society where it is a lot harder to access it.
In a study recently publish by The medical journal JAMA Pediatrics , in states where cannabis was legalized, we can observe an 8% drop in the number of teens who said they used marijuana in the last 30 days and a 10% drop in those who said they used marijuana at least 10 times in the last 30 days.
Second, as an adult Cannabis can help with numerous conditions like chronic pain, improve lung capacity, help lose weight, regulates and prevent diabetes, treats depression, regulates seizures, help with ADHD and ADD, slows down the development of the Alzheimer's disease and even fight cancer.
More and more studies are coming out showing that medical Cannabis would be a beautiful sidekick to chemotherapy.
It helps to treat nausea and prevent vomiting. Specifics Cannabinoids (Cannabis molecules) like THC or CBD, have shown to slow the growth and reduce the spread of cancer cells.
Lastly, the Cannabis plant as I mentioned earlier is a prodigy of nature because of all the different uses it offers us.
Just from the stalk, we can make textiles, insulation, rope, paper, organic compost, animal bedding or fiberboard.
From its seeds, we can make cooking/seasoning oil, dietary supplement, body care products, fuel, paint, flour, beer, etc…
From its roots, we can make medicine and organic compost.
From its leaves/ flowers, we can make animal bedding, compost or medicine.
It has been used for more than 2000 years and got criminalized in the 1930s.
There is a way to live in peace with this force of nature our ancestors did it before us.
Let’s begin a new chapter of history.

Please consult your Doctor before adding CBD or any supplement to your diet. Most workplace and competitive sports drug screens focus on delta-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and do not screen for Cannabinol (CBD) or other legal and natural hemp-based compounds. Be advised, studies have shown that consuming hemp foods or oils can cause a positive result when screening urine and blood specimens. Therefore, if you are subject to any form of drug testing or screening. We recommended (as does the United States Armed Services) that you DO-NOT ingest CBD or hemp oil before consulting your healthcare practitioner or your drug screening testing company or employer.
